The Remarkables is in the ...
QUEENSTOWN SKI REGION

 New Zealand Ski partner website

Perfect for beginners, youth and entire families, the north-facing slopes of The Remarkables are home to versatile terrain, fantastic learning facilities and fun for all ages … and this year The Remarkables celebrates its 25th birthday!

The base building provides all facilities, including a newly expanded restaurant and large sun deck - perfect for enjoying refreshments, overseeing children on the adjacent learners’ slopes and people-watching.

New radio frequency ID lift passes make access to The Remarkables quicker and easier than ever before. With self-service kiosks at various locations on the mountain and an easy-to-use online store, this system is the ski lift pass of the future.

World-class parks and big-mountain terrain

The Remarkables is favoured by advanced freeskiers and riders who come for the superb terrain parks and the lift-serviced back country style runs and chutes.  In addition to the beginner/novice park, there is a world-class advanced terrain park and the Southern Hemisphere’s only Stash, a revolutionary Burton signature terrain park plus sensational terrain for big mountain skiers and riders who love the thrill of fresh tracks and deep powder. A dedicated park team, advanced snowmaking systems and a fleet of Pisten Bully snow groomers work to keep terrain consistently shaped and groomed to a high quality. Throughout the season there are some great events on for all.  Check out the line up for events at the Remarkables.

Location and shuttle information from Queenstown

The Remarkables is a 45 minute drive from Queenstown with plenty of free car parking available. However, the easiest and most cost effective option for getting to The Remarks is on the Green NZSki Snowline. Regular coaches depart from the Queenstown Snow Centre and make stops at selected Queenstown accommodation providers along the way. And if you hold a valid Remarkables lift pass or combo pack, return trips are free on the Green Line subject to presentation of a bus ticket or pre-purchased voucher (bus tickets can be collected from the Snow Centre or on-mountain Guest Services) and to space availability.

Ski and snowboard lessons

Children have a ball thanks to a range of programmes suited to all ages and abilities.  The fully licensed Skiwiland Early Learning Centre accommodates children aged between three months and five years. From Skiwiland they graduate to a variety of ski and ride programmes suited to ages and abilities up to 15 years.

First timers have fantastic fun at their own pace on gentle slopes equipped with three surface conveyor lifts.  Once comfortable and up-skilled, it’s an easy graduation for them to the intermediate trails and beginner terrain park of Alta Blue – complete with fun features such as a tunnel and small roll-overs aimed at gentle progression.

There is also a wide selection of programmes for adults to choose from including group lessons as well as specialist training programmes. Or if you prefer, you can take a private lesson, catering for all ages and ability levels.

Rental equipment

The Remarkables has a fully stocked on-mountain rental department and a team of well trained staff on hand to assist you in finding the right gear. You can rent skis, snowboards, boots, clothing and helmets, and the on-site technicians keep the equipment in good shape to ensure you have the best time possible on the slopes. The beauty about renting on the hill is that you can swap your gear at any time, or if you find something’s not quite right, it can be changed on the spot saving you a trip back to town. You can also store your gear overnight if you’ve hired for two or more days.

The Remarkables Accommodation

Queenstown, just a short drive from The Remarkables, is abundant with quality accommodation options.  Check out some of the accommodation options available in Queenstown for your awesome ski and snowboarding trip to the Remarkables.
