The Remarkables
Perfect for beginners, youth and entire families, the north-facing slopes of The Remarkables are home to versatile terrain, fantastic learning facilities and fun for all ages.
You can enjoy The Remarkables experience from 16 June 2012 when the ski area is due to open.
The base building provides all facilities and is the ideal location for overseeing children on nearby learners’ slopes while enjoying refreshments on the sun deck.
Fun for the kids starts at the fully licensed Skiwiland Early Learning Centre, progressing to programmes for all ages and abilities from three months to 15 years. There are three terrain parks ranging from beginner to advanced, and a tubing park for fun without skis or board.
Transportation:
|
The 45 minute journey to The Remarkables is a breeze aboard the Green NZSki Snowline, free for all Remarks pass holders departing from the Snow Centre. Travel to The Remarkables for FREE - return trips on the NZSki Snowline from the Snow Centre in downtown Queenstown are free for everyone who has a Remarkables day or multiday pass or combo pack, subject to presentation of a bus ticket or pre-purchased voucher, and to space availability. All tickets can be collected from the Snow Centre or on-mountain Guest Services. |
Ski and Snowboard Lessons:
The ski and snowboard instructors at The Remarkables are some of the best skiers and riders in New Zealand. Not only do they travel from all four corners of the planet, they instruct and train all year to keep up with the latest styles and techniques.
The Snowsports School's emphasis is on fun learning with products to suit everyone of all ages and all abilities. Whether you’re new to skiing or snowboarding or an expert looking to work on improving your technique, you can get the tips, pointers and skills to progress to the next level in a fun and safe environment either in a group or a private lesson.
Rental Equipment:
Why lug that gear around if you don't have to? Everything you need is right on the mountain. The Remarkables rental department stocks the latest gear, from clothing to equipment, and has one of the largest and most current ranges of rental equipment in the South Island, with quality brands such as K2, Salomon and Burton allowing you a choice of fit and feel.
Carving skis make up the majority of the recreational range and a selection of other ski options are available through the performance line. Snowboards come with freestyle strap-in bindings and when you rent on the mountain if you want to swap, exchange, upgrade or find something’s not quite right, it can be taken care of on the spot. If you’re feeling like a change you can ski in the morning then switch to snowboarding in the afternoon at no extra charge.
The on-mountain rental department offers free overnight storage to all hirers and there’s the added flexibility of returning your rental equipment to Coronet Peak, The Remarkables or the Queenstown Snow Centre, irrespective of where you picked it up. Please note The Remarkables doesn’t rent gloves, hats or goggles.
Tubing at The Remarkables
Have fun on the slopes at Ozone Tubing Park! It is a great way to enjoy time on the slopes with the whole family or to enjoy the slopes not skiing or snowboarding. Experience the thrills and turns as you shoot down the tubing lanes.
