On the Snow

The skifields open from early June and a good season will see snow seekers on the slopes until well into October.  The Southern Lakes Region is home to four ski areas; Coronet PeakThe Remarkables, Cardrona Alpine Resort, Treble Cone and it’s stable climate means the fields rarely close due to bad weather.  A vast range of terrain caters for all levels of skier or rider. 

Queenstown Attractions

This four season resort has heaps of things to do - thrill seekers take their pick of adventure activities. Those looking for relaxation can chill out on the golf courses, sample award-winning wine at picturesque vineyards, enjoy a treatment at a luxury spa or simply discover the many shops, galleries, bars,  restaurants and natural attractions in Queenstown. Events

The American Express Queenstown Winter Festival runs from June 25 to July 4 and ensures 10 days of non-stop celebrating the start of winter. The Mountain Film Festival, the Glenorchy Winter Ball and Gay Ski Week New Zealand are also worth checking out.

Air New Zealand flys directly from Australian major East Coast cities directly into Queenstown International Airport Direct.

Getting from Queenstown to the Ski Resorts

Getting around Queenstown’s ski resorts is easily done by shuttle, car, or bus.  Queenstown’s bus system, Connectabus, offers transportation both around town and to the nearby ski resorts of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.  Look out for the big yellow buses for a hassle free ride to ski and snowboard The Remarables and Coronet Peak this winter.
