Ski Methven
Methven, in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island, feels a bit like a selfish little secret; a place so special that once you discover it, you want to keep it to yourself and you won’t feel remotely inclined to share it.
Tranquil yet exhilarating, relaxing yet vibrant, Methven offers a perfect escape no matter what your taste or budget. Just one hour from Christchurch, on Inland Scenic Route 72, this village buzzes in winter.
Methven is nestled right beneath the towering Mt Hutt and Methven is hands-down the closest place to stay to get an early start on slopes at Mt Hutt.
Rows and rows of Alps, situated behind Mt Hutt beckon heli-skiers and riders, searching for some of the most amazing and challenging slopes on offer.
