The Mackenzie region, with Lake Tekapo at its heart,  is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places to ski in New Zealand, with the majestic Southern Alps and sparking glacial lakes ever present.

Mackenzie Ski Region

As a stopover while travelling between Christchurch and Queenstown, or a destination itself, the areas in the Mackenzie region provide ski and snowboarding terrain for everyone.

On the Snow 

Three key ski areas in the Mackenzie Region, Roundhill Ski Area, Mt Dobson Ski Area, and Ohau Snow Fields, provide family friendly skiing together with some tremendous off-piste terrain.

  • Mt Dobson - 19th June 2010

  • Ohau - 26th June 2010

  • Roundhill - 3rd July 2010

Spectacular heliski options are also available in this region that is home to the spectacular Southern Alps, Aoraki/Mt Cook and the majestic Tasman Glacier.
