Cardrona Alpine Resort

Cardrona is renowned for being a fun and friendly ski resort with some of the most reliable snow conditions in the region. 

Thanks to its high elevation and south facing location, snow is dry and plentiful.  Beginners will love Cardrona’s famous beginners’ slopes which were redeveloped for 2011, making them larger and accessed by a state of the art magic carpet. 

Cardrona is the second largest ski area in the Queenstown-Lake Wanaka region.  

Cardrona is planning a 22 June 2012 opening.

Transportation:

Cardrona is easily accessible from both Queenstown and Wanaka by shuttle, bus or car.  Drive time from Queenstown is 60 minutes over the spectacular Crown Range.  Kiwi Discovery &  Info & Track buses leave frequently from Queenstown.    Cardrona is a short 35 minute drive by car from Wanaka with Alpine Coaches providing regular buses from the centre of town.   Private shuttle transfers can be arranged with Ridgeline Adventures. Ski and Snowboard Lessons:

Cardrona is home to NZ’s friendliest Snowsports Centre!  Cardrona’s team of talented instructors & coaches will help build your confidence and skills out on the slopes no matter what your age or ability level.  

Cardrona Snowsports School has got you covered with a range of lessons and programs on offer, including first time packages, group lessons, private lessons or week long programmes..   With four kids centres  to choose from the little ones are particularly well looked after with options for those aged 3 months to 14 years.   

Rental Equipment:

Make it easy this ski holiday and rent all your equipment on the mountain! 

Cardrona has a huge range of the latest ski and snowboard gear for a great day out including helmets, waterproof clothes, goggles and wrist gaurds.   Skis and snowboards are available including twin tips, Burton Learn to Ride snowboards, performance and beginner skis.   Cardrona rental equipment can be used at surrounding mountains in the Southern Lakes and returned at the end of your holiday to our offices in either Wanaka or Queenstown.
