Beginner Skiers & Snowboarders
New to the slopes this winter? Each resort has got you covered to take up skiing and snowboarding with experienced instructors offering lessons, on-mountain shop for hiring gear and equipment, and terrain for learning. Lessons are a great place to start off to brush up on your skills, try skiing or snowboarding for the first time, and to take the kids for their first time on the mountain.
The Remarkables: check out the Snowsports School to help develop your skiing and snowboarding skills with private or group lessons and professional instructors from all over the world. The beginner terrain at The Remarkables has carpet lifts and an Alta chairlift with space to practice and improve.
Coronet Peak: with 25% beginner terrain, the ski and snowboard school at Coronet Peak has lessons in a fun environment for all ages and abilities. Take a group or private lesson with the Snowsports School to enjoy a great day on the slopes at Coronet Peak.
Cardrona: take your pick from one day or multi-day group lessons and private lessons. Ski and snowboard in the extensive learner’s area with instructors providing tips and tricks to help you learn to ski and snowboard. Cardrona offers lift tickets, lessons, and rental equipment packages perfectly suited to beginners.
Treble Cone: each learner package is flexible to meet your budget and schedule with passes, lessons, and equipment hire. All group lessons have a guarantee of a small amount of people, with a maximum of five in kids’ lessons and eight in adult lessons to give you personalised attention.
Mt Hutt: learn to ski and snowboard with the one day starter pack for skiers and boarders 16 years and up, or with a Kea Club package for kids including lesson, pass and equipment. The beginner terrain on the mountain has a magic carpet and Express quad chairlift to learn to ski and snowboard.
Each of the different resorts offers a variety of terrain for beginners so you are able to learn and then advance to different terrain levels. In the table below you can see the different terrain varieties to help suit a beginner and groups with a variety of levels.
